Glycerine: new kosher certificate
Food and skincare products are not only an expression of lifestyle, sustainability and health. Many people also follow religious guidelines in their consumer decisions, as for example with the kosher diet followed by members of the Jewish faith, who number 15 million worldwide. Because of the increasing demand for kosher foods, we have now had our glycerine products and logistics centers certified as kosher.
After an extensive review process carried out by the rabbinate of the Jewish community of Antwerp, TER Chemicals was awarded the kosher certificate. For their review of our products, the rabbinate conducted a thorough examination of the logistics centers of TER Chemicals in Hamburg and the Netherlands.
Alongside conformity with kosher diets, we cater to individual requirements by also offering halal conformity and glycerine that is vegan thanks to its plant-based origin.
Glycerine: prices at a record low
After prices fell drastically at the end of 2018, a constantly low price level was expected for the course of 2019. Contrary to forecasts, the price fell further and is currently at a record low. Technical glycerine, most significantly, is currently being traded at a very low price. The reason for this is the repeal of the import ban on Argentinian raw materials. For a year now, it has been possible once again to import raw materials and glycerine itself from Argentina. This has led to excess production of glycerine and thus ensures a substantial surplus in supply, which is resulting in very low prices.
